Dr. Z is now certified by the Institute for Functional Medicine
If you’ve been keeping up on our blog, you already know that we’re expanding our practice to provide our patients with the resources and tools for better overall health. Allergies and asthma aren’t just once-in-a-while problems–they affect your daily life. So it’s important to look at these health concerns from a holistic view.
Functional medicine does exactly that. This integrated approach helps allergy and asthma sufferers find long-term relief and improved overall health. It’s closely aligned with the goal we’ve always espoused: to treat the cause and defeat the symptoms, rather than just prescribing yet another medication or suggesting yet another OTC pill.
Dr. Z is certified in functional medicine!
Recently, Dr. Z underwent a comprehensive training and education program in functional medicine. In addition to being an M.D., he is now fully certified by the Institute of Functional Medicine. Why did Dr. Z decide to take this step?
“In over 25 years of treating allergy and asthma, I’ve always looked for the root causes of my patients’ problems. More and more, we’re discovering that allergies, respiratory symptoms, rashes, GI symptoms, food allergies/sensitivities, and constant fatigue are related to inflammation in our gut–our microbiome. Being fully certified in functional medicine will help me to treat the whole person, offering integrated treatment modalities to promote better health for all my patients.”
A team dedicated to your health
In addition to Dr. Z, our practice has a fantastic professional team to promote whole patient health. Our nurse practitioners are ready to help with sick visits and prescription review. Dr. Pare is the first state-licensed naturopath. We’re honored to have these dedicated health professionals, supported by our friendly staff, to help our patients not only reduce allergy and asthma symptoms, but attain greater health and quality of life.
